Welcome to the
Vermont Sheep and Goat Association

VSGA's mission is to support, improve and strengthen the Vermont sheep and goat community and its infrastructure. We invite you to join us in our efforts.

If you're raising sheep or goats in Vermont or are in business to serve sheep or goat farmers, the VSGA is here to serve you.

Our website has an array of resources to help you along the way including useful in-state and national contacts, educational opportunities, a reference library, grant and lending opportunities, and animal health alerts.

We are now offering our members an online marketplace, where you can post items for sale or post requests for items you're looking to buy.

Nibbling a New Landscape

In 1838, when 1.6 million sheep outnumbered the 292,000 Vermonters five-to-one, the Green Mountain State wore a lighter and more expansive shade of green than it bears today; at peak, 80 percent of the state was grassy pasture land.

The VSGA now has an email discussion list, called SheepBreeders, which allows each of us to easily contact one another.

Members can send a message to: sheepbreeders@list.uvm.edu.
The list is open only to members. If you have any questions about the list or if you would like to join it, send a message to webmaster@vtsheepandgoat.org

Members can profile their own businesses by filling out our online form. We'll create an online directory of member businesses.
