The Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) was created by statute in 1974 to promote economic prosperity and increase employment through the operation of a variety of financing programs, including those offering direct loans, industrial revenue bonds and the issuance of mortgage loan insurance. VEDA members are nine Vermont residents appointed by the Governor, plus the State Treasurer, the Secretary of the Agency of Development and Community Affairs and the Commissioner of Agriculture.
